Is He the Right Man for the Job?
Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., is chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. Rangel is at the center of a government ethics probe into whether he failed to pay taxes and disclose income on several properties.
Mr. Rangle is a smart man. Its hard to understand why he seems to be dragging his feet on his tax problems. Maybe he is waiting for a legal miracle to occur, and this bad dream will all go away. He must know better, he has a JD, is smart and knows his job.
He is being watched, and he knows this too, and as such, this has to be a distraction. Rangel holds a very important job, chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. Many have asked that he step down as chairman until the situation is resolved.
With all his experience, education and knowledge, you would think he would want to fix his tax problems ASAP, and get all this behind him. He seems to be stubborn. Why? What can he gain? Maybe he waiting for a "deal" from the IRS.
He should know that this problem, which he created, will not just "go away."

Yep...he's a smart man, but one who got caught. He's a tax cheat as much as our Secretary of the Treasury. This isn't a one-time occurence. Mr. Rangel has "forgotten" his taxes more than once and failed to disclose over a million dollars of his net worth. He used tax funding to restore a tenement in NY City, then lived in one. What next? The common man would be in deep doo doo for scamming the government, but these people in Congress have a sense of entitlement that is beyond realistic. It's time for Mr. Rangel to move along. Perhaps he should check into Hotel Arpaio in Arizona and don a pair of pink undies. *lol*
ReplyDeleteI don't understand why people can't just impeach people like this...fire them. Why is it left up to the media to put pressure on other congressmen to do the 'right thing' when other congressmen are just as crooked? We elected/hired them...why can't we fire them, too?
ReplyDeleteUnreal. Rangel...what a joke. And I'd LOVE it if Arpaio took on Congress. That would be hilarious. Can you see Pelosi and Reid, along with Rangel and Frank, wearing pink undies? HA! That's a picture worth framing. :)
